PRIVACY POLICY FOR TRAZO

THE SHORT VERSION

Trazo traces the flight of a golf ball in your swing videos.

Your videos never leave your iPhone. Ball detection, trajectory tracing, stabilization and rendering all run entirely on your device. We do not upload, store, or have any access to your videos, photos, or the traces you create.

What we do collect is limited to anonymous app analytics, crash reports, and advertising measurement data - the standard information needed to keep the app working and to understand where new users come from. Details are below.

1. WHO WE ARE

Trazo ("the app") is provided by Julian Praest ("we", "us", "our"), [ADDRESS].

For the purposes of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. YOUR VIDEOS AND PHOTOS

This is the most important section, so we are putting it first.

We never receive your videos or photos.

All ball detection, motion analysis, stabilization, trajectory fitting and arc rendering happen on your device, using Apple frameworks and a machine-learning model bundled inside the app.

The app makes no network requests containing video, image, or frame data.

Traced videos you export are saved to your device and shared only where you choose to share them.

We use no third-party AI services. Nothing is sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or any comparable provider.

We have no server that stores your content, and no ability to view, recover, or delete your videos.

If you delete the app, any traces and settings held by the app are removed with it.

3. DEVICE PERMISSIONS WE REQUEST

Photo Library

To let you choose a swing video to trace. Access is read-only unless you save an exported video. If you decline, you can still record a new video in the app, but cannot import existing ones.

Camera

To record a swing directly in the app. If you decline, you can still import videos from your library.

Microphone

Captured as part of in-app video recording so your clip has sound. If you decline, in-app recordings will have no audio.

App Tracking Transparency

To measure the effectiveness of our advertising (see Section 5). If you decline, the app works normally. We do not use the advertising identifier and Meta receives no linked device identifier.

You can change any of these at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security, or Settings > Trazo.

4. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

4.1 Information you give us

If you contact us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to answer you.

4.2 Information collected automatically

Through the third-party services listed in Section 5, we receive:

Device and system information - device model, iOS version, language, country/region, screen size, time zone.

App usage data - screens viewed, features used (for example, how often manual mode is used), session length and frequency, app version.

Diagnostics - crash reports, error logs, and the device state at the time of a crash.

Purchase and subscription data - whether a subscription is active, which product was purchased, trial and renewal status, and anonymous purchase events.

Advertising and attribution data - which ad campaign brought you to the app, and app events such as install, trial start, or purchase.

This data is pseudonymous: it is tied to a randomly generated app or device identifier, not to your name.

4.3 What we never collect

We do not collect your name, postal address, phone number, date of birth, precise location, contacts, health data, or payment card details. Apple processes all payments; we never see your card information.

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We use a small number of established providers. Each is listed with what it receives and where to read its own policy.

Apple (App Store and In-App Purchases)

Apple processes all purchases and subscriptions. We receive anonymized sales and subscription reports and, where you consent, aggregated App Analytics. We never receive your Apple ID or payment details.

Google Firebase Analytics

Provides anonymous usage statistics so we can see which features are used and where people get stuck. Collects a pseudonymous app instance ID, device and OS information, and in-app events.

Google Firebase Crashlytics

Records crash reports so we can fix bugs. Collects the crash stack trace, device model, OS version, and device state at the time of the crash.

Meta (Facebook SDK)

Measures the performance of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram - for example, whether an install or subscription followed a particular ad. Receives app events and, only if you allow tracking via the App Tracking Transparency prompt, the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA). If you decline, no advertising identifier is shared and events are sent without a linked identifier.

Superwall

Manages the display of our subscription screens and records anonymous paywall and purchase events. Receives a pseudonymous identifier, device information, and subscription status.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers.

6. WHY WE PROCESS YOUR DATA (GDPR LEGAL BASES)

Operating and maintaining the app - performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).

Diagnosing crashes and fixing bugs - legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)), keeping the app stable.

Anonymous usage analytics - consent where required (Art. 6(1)(a)); otherwise legitimate interests.

Advertising measurement and attribution - consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given via the App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Managing subscriptions - performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).

Responding to support requests - legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time - for tracking, by turning off Allow Tracking in iOS Settings.

7. HOW LONG WE KEEP DATA

Analytics data - retained by Firebase according to our configured retention period, currently [2 / 14] months, after which it is deleted or aggregated.

Crash reports - retained for up to 90 days.

Advertising events - retained by Meta according to their own retention schedule.

Support emails - kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up on related issues.

Your videos and traces - never held by us at all.

8. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Our providers (Google, Meta, Apple, Superwall) process data in the United States and other countries. Where data originating in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland is transferred, these transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

9. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.

Correct inaccurate data.

Delete your data (right to erasure).

Restrict or object to certain processing.

Data portability - receive your data in a machine-readable format.

Withdraw consent at any time.

Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the attribution measurement described in Section 5.

If you are in Canada (PIPEDA): you may request access to your personal information and challenge its accuracy.

If you are in the EEA or UK: you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. [If you are in Germany, this is the Landesbeauftragte fuer Datenschutz of your federal state.]

To exercise any of these rights, email [CONTACT EMAIL]. Because the data we hold is pseudonymous, we may need the identifier shown in the app's Settings screen to locate it. We respond within 30 days.

The fastest way to stop all collection is to delete the app, which ends analytics, crash reporting, and advertising events immediately.

10. CHILDREN

Trazo is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will delete it.

11. SECURITY

Because your videos stay on your device, the most sensitive content the app handles is protected by iOS's own encryption and sandboxing. Data sent to our providers travels over encrypted connections (TLS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We will update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use Trazo after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Trazo is a video effect tool for entertainment and social sharing. It visualizes the path of a golf shot and does not measure carry distance, ball speed, spin, or launch angle.
